Local outdoor and environmental education organizations can be a powerful addition to any nature-based early childhood program. This webinar will explore potential partners and how to work with them to ensure children are building meaningful connections with their local place over time.

Specifically, we’ll focus on Section IV: Community Partnerships and Resources of the NAture-Based Education Rating Scale (NABERS) including:

  • Potential community partners and resources

  • How to work with a nature-based educator at your school on a regular basis

  • Types of nature-based artifacts and resources and how to use them in your teaching

  • Integrating local nature-based field trips into your curriculum

This webinar will be held via Zoom. (Yes, we’ll send you the recording if you can’t attend live!) And whether you attend live or view the recording, we’ll send you a certificate for 1 hour of attendance.*

Individualized Professional Development Goals

If you used the NAture-Based Education Rating Scale (NABERS) to establish your professional learning goals for the year, this webinar supports growth in Section IV: Community Partnerships and Resources.

Not sure what we’re talking about? NABERS is a tool for both PreK and K-3 programs to determine the “natureness” of their program and teaching. You can find the tools in Evaluating Natureness: Measuring the Quality of Nature-based Classrooms in Pre-K Through 3rd Grade in the Samara Shop.

Upcoming Webinars in this Series

Join us for the future webinar(s) based on the NAture-Based Education Rating Scale (NABERS)! These sessions will include:

*Please note, licensing requirements for early childhood educators vary significantly, so we cannot guarantee this time will be accepted for your requirements. We recommend that you contact your certifying or state licensing agency for clarification.
